Two Wheels to Four Legs

Daily writing prompt
What could you try for the first time?

As a motorcycle enthusiast, I’ve found myself wondering about horse riding.

Not to trade in my bike, but out of pure curiosity.

How different is it to “ride” something alive?

On my motorcycle, I’m in total control. But a horse has its own mind. How do riders handle that?

I know my bike’s every move. But how does it feel when your “vehicle” shifts its weight on its own? Do you work with the horse’s movements or against them?

My engine’s power is measured in horsepower. Ironically, I’ve never felt a real horse’s power. Is it as thrilling as twisting the throttle?

When I ride, I’m hyper-aware of the road. Do horse riders develop a similar awareness of trails? Or do they trust their mount’s instincts?

It’s fascinating how two activities – both called “riding” – can be so different. As bikers, we chase freedom and connection with our machines. I wonder if horse riders feel something similar, or entirely unique?
