A Single Engine

The roar builds like a tsunami of steel and purpose. Fifty-odd bikes, a chorus of pistons and valves, all tuning up for something greater than themselves. I’m perched on Luna, my trusty Kawasaki Eliminator, feeling the vibrations sync with my heartbeat. It’s my third year here, but the electricity in the air still makes my skin tingle.

This isn’t your average Saturday ride.

August 3rd. The sun blazes mercilessly. Around me, leather creaks and chrome glints. Faces both familiar and new, all united by a cause bigger than any single rider: the battle against addiction.

Kickstands snap up in a wave. A moment of pregnant silence. Then – ignition.

Engines roar to life, the ground trembles and my bones vibrate. In this moment, we cease to be individuals.

We become a single engine.

Time loses meaning. There’s only the road, the roar, the rhythm. We are more than the sum of our parts – we are solidarity, we are action, we are unstoppable.

In this crucible of heat and horsepower, individuality burns away. There is no ‘I’, only ‘we’. Our single engine drives us forward, each curve and straightaway a testament to the power of community in the face of society’s challenges.

This is why we ride. This is how change ignites – not with a whimper, but with a roar that shakes the earth. For these burning hours, we aren’t just bikers. We’re a force of nature.

One engine. One purpose. One unstoppable wave of hope.
